Lately I haven't been wanting to do much except read, and what perfect weather for it. I've always appreciated reading, especially those books that allow you to escape for a bit into another world. Along with those, I adore inspirational books, and even better combining the two! Instead of an inspiring quote this week, I'd like to encourage you to dive into this great read.
The Alchemist by Brazilian author, Paulo Coelho. It has some wonderful reviews. I started yesterday and can't seem to put it down. It's great for an audience in their mid-20's, but also wonderful for elders. Bottom line, it's just a really great book. On top of being a great story it provides lessons I think we should all take into account.
If you haven't had the chance to check it out, I highly recommend.
Also on my reading list this fall (and may I add, I have recruited most of my list from Lauren Conrad's blog.)
- The Abominable by Dan Simmons
- Lighthouse Island: A Novel by Paulette Jiles
- It's Not Love, It's Just Paris by Patricia Engel
- We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo
- Man Up! Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence by Ross Mathews
- Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather and having a wonderful month! Have you read any of these books? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on them!
XOXO

One of my goals is to post an inspirational quote every week. They really help me when times aren't so great and I love the feeling you get when you find just the right thing to read at the right time. You almost feel rejuvenated, right?! If I can help even one person, I feel like I am going in the right direction.
So I haven't posted anything relating to the land I love lately, and since my blog title is written in Portuguese, I figure now's a good time to bust out a little "Brazilian flavor" if you will. It's about time I spice things up around here!
"Try to be happy instead of trying to be perfect."
One of my very favorite quotes in Portuguese as some of you may know.
I constantly try to remind myself this as I find myself on the line of the two quite often. I want to do this but people will reward me if i take this road instead. We
sometimes get too caught up in our superficial world, and forget that
it's not about making other people happy, it's about making yourself
happy.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Now get out there and do something for yourself because you deserve it!
XOXO

Capture the Colour is having their photoblogging contest again this year, and I have stumbled upon it through a blog I love all thanks to the lovely Chelsea from Lost in Travels! I love the whole concept of this contest, and although my photos aren't the most professional, I figure maybe i'll get lucky! I try to be a pro and take interesting and wonderful pictures, however most of the time they come out quite the opposite. ;)
What you need to do is pick a picture from your travels that best represents each of the colors: red, green, yellow, blue, and white, then create a post with them. Spread the word about the contest! Then just keep an eye out for the chosen winners.
So what are you waiting on? Deadline is tomorrow, October 9, 2013 so you'd better hurry!
Now that you know how to enter, below are my chosen color filled photos. I hope you guys enjoy!

I think everyone needs a little pick-me-up every now and then, whether it be to keep on trucking, or to close one door and open the next. Sometimes life gets rough and we all need a reminder of just how good we have it.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
